Tweet! Tweet!

Gush time! This adorable fabric is from Tina Givens' new line Annabella - is it not the sweetest? It's so pretty in real life and I thought it would make the perfect little girls skooter skirt. Now i'm not usually a bird fan, but for some reason I seem to be coming round to alot of bird prints lately - this print is a winner. The colors are divine.

Skooters are always a big hit with my very active daughter - and i'm having a blast pumping out skooter skirts. Don't ask me why, probably because they are so easy and fun to make.
Shorts underneath - perfectly acceptable attire for soccer practice - don't you think? Well, what you think doesn't matter, if you are 6 it's just fine apparently.
And an Amy Butler version I made a few days earlier - that would be the prototype.

Ciao!

Saddle up!

Hey guess what?? I sewed something on the weekend - yes it's true!! Ok ok, so maybe I have been a little lax in that dept lately ~ it's summer, too nice to be inside.

This was a fun set to whip up - Cowgirl boot designs from LynniePinnie stitched up very nicely. I made the tee and then low and behold my daughter insisted that a matching skirt be made to go with it. Now I will have to tell you that I managed to eek this skooter skirt out of a 1/2 yard of fabric which has got to be a record (for a size 8) not to mention that I had to use some of that 1/2 yard on the boots. Turned out ok though - and check out the Debbie dots! Added a knit pair of shorts built in so that it is monkey bar friendly - a girl never knows when a gymnastics opportunity might present itself right?

Nothing special on the fabric here, just plain 'ole aqua stripes from a chain store and some Miller that's it dots on the ruffle. Now we just need a cowboy hat and some boots! Yee haw
