Some news and a Giveaway

Back in the fall I mentioned that his little book was coming out from CT Publishing. Well it’s out and I keep forgetting to blog about it!

Playful Little Paper-pieced Projects was complied by

Tacha Bruecher, one of the editors of the Fat Quarterly, and it’s currently available at Amazon and probably also at your local book store.

My project was this sewing machine cover which ties on the sides so it should fit just about any machine regardless it’s length and width.  I sewed this up over a year and half ago, seems like forever.
Pattern and instructions are in the book along with a CD of all the patterns in digital format! Yay for that.  Digital is always nice if you need to resize or reprint.

As part of the launch for this book I am giving away a copy of it.  Simply comment here to be entered into the giveaway. You’ll get extra entries if you tweet, post on facebook or Instagram this giveaway. Comment back here so I know you’ve done so.   Winner will be chosen on Feb. 19th. When you comment be sure that your account isn't set to no-reply otherwise leave your email in your comment or I will have no way to track you down if you win.

If you are local and you want an extra chance to win, you can attend this Wednesday’s Corvallis Modern Quilt guild meeting where I will be presenting a talk on Foundation piecing and  also raffling off a copy of the book.

Doctor Who Along Block 19 Power of Three

Hello Whovians!

Today we have on tap the 19th block of the Doctor Who Along.  Those bewildering little black boxes were completely benign ~  until they weren’t.  That’s the Power of Three! They also make nice paperweights.

This block is one of the easiest in the QAL.  So you get a little break before our last block.

You can download the pattern here or on Craftsy.

The background fabric is once again Constellations from Lizzie House along with some solid shades of gray, black and royal blue.  Perfect for this little black box.

Happy Sewing!

You can find the pattern on her website here:
I was lucky enough to have some leftover Doctor Who fabric from Spoonflower that worked well for the watch.

Don't forget to share your finished blocks on the Flickr group site.

Cheers and Happy Sewing!
